We'd love to take credit for the 'chick' photograph, but we found it while researching the great, new stock photography site - Stocksy. It's a cooperative run by its own photographers who get paid a relatively high percentage of the royalties generated by each image sale: 50%. On top of that, photographers split the profits left over at the end of each year. The idea is to attract top-shelf photographers who are unhappy with expanding photographer competition and shrinking payouts from the major sites. If your job requires, as my day job does, to use stock photography - we highly recommend this site for its originality as well as its ethics.
